The international English language testing system(IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with over 2 million tests taken in the last year.
Divided into two tests, the academic and the global, you must decide what you expect to achieve with your new certification. Are you planning on applying to a masters or doctorates degree in Europe? This exam should be your first choice.
Downside: It expires every 2 years and Rosario doesn’t currently have a testing center so once you have prepared for the exam, you will need to travel to Cordoba, Mendoza or Buenos Aires. Check the dates and prices here.
Upside: Like the TOEFL, it measures not only your language skill but also your level of academia. But, rumor has it that IELTS is a bit easier when it comes to the speaking tasks and if you really strive, you can test as high as Cambridge’s proficiency test (C2).
